The last days of July marked the first SOIN School seminar series kick-off in St. Petersburg, Russia.

14 eager social innovators took part. During an intense weekend, led by SOIN's own Sergey Medvedev and Nadezhda Anikieva, the attendees were introduced to the basics of social entrepreneurship and innovation, went over the key social entrepreneurship case studies globally and in Eastern Europe, and reviewed the financial models and funding sources available for their own projects.

Later, the group visited an NGO "Legko- Legko" ("Easy-easy" ) where the participants got acquainted with the projects business model up close. The second day's programm was conceptualized and performed by the Co-founder and Program director of Moscow's Impact Hub Anastasia Gulyavina. The day was spent getting trained in Lean model for social start-ups, and hands-on work on the participants' own projects.

After two days of workshopping, brainstorming, and networking, the group disbanded, energized and inspired to apply the newly learned information.
