SOIN school offers a free program for social entrepreneurship and innovation to young people from Belarus, Ukraine and Russia. Due to the lack of resources and slow change, the governmental institutions are not always able to react to modern social problems in timely and efficient manner. Social entrepreneurship becomes an important player to step up to this role, develop new solutions and approaches, and innovate where fresh solutions are needed the most: the problems of social disengagement, unemployment, and fragile environment.
SOIN School for Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation was founded in 2015 in Berlin, comprising of the Fall school in Berlin and two seminar series in Odessa and Minsk . In 2016, we expanded the program even further. From July to October 2016, seminars on social entrepreneurship and innovation took place in thirteen cities across Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. Upon completion of the seminars, those with the strongest entrepreneurship proposals participants had an opportunity to further their study at the Berlin Fall School in November. Finally, 10 most promising changemakers took part in the mentor-based accelerator program and presented their social startups at the Social Innovation Forum on January, 28, 2017 in Minsk.
This educational program is brought together by the passionate individuals from the German, Ukrainian, and Russian Impact Hubs, Berlin's Dekabristen network and crowdfunding platforms talaka.by and planeta.ru and is realized with the generous support of the German Foreign Office.
